Dragon Ball Super's official artist will create new intermission art until the manga returns

The latest chapter of Dragon Ball Super, titled “A Legacy Towards the Future”.

It was published in V-Jump on March 21, 2024—a few weeks after the death of famed Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. In the wake of this tragic event, the franchise stated that Super would eventually resume publication, with Toyotarou continuing as its main illustrator. While Dragon Ball has yet to announce a projected release window for this continuation at the time of writing, the DBS Interval Special serves as a reassuring reminder that the franchise will live on beyond the death of its beloved creator. Until Super's official return, V-Jump will regularly feature new pieces created by Toyotarou, while also providing fans with new details on the featured characters and their respective arcs.
